Before Wednesday night's game against the New York Mets at Rogers Centre, the Blue Jays revealed that Estrada is suffering from a strain to one of his left glute muscles, an issue he has been trying to work through for nearly two weeks.
The six-time All-Star went deep twice, accounting for all three runs for the Blue Jays. Not since his playing days with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2008 has Bautista played in Toronto wearing anything but a Blue Jays uniform. In four stints with the Mets, he has made two appearances.
Prior to becoming a franchise icon with the Blue Jays, Bautista was infamous for being a baseball nomad; suiting up for four teams in the span of one season and even belonging to the Mets organization for a few fleeting minutes during the 2004 season. Bautista once again hit 40 home runs in 2015, giving the Blue Jays the league's best power due in him and Josh Donaldson.
He entered play Tuesday with a.250 batting average, three homers and 13 RBIs in 36 games with NY. He saved the Blue Jays from elimination; he stopped the Jays from being remembered for losing a series in one of the most painful ways imaginable.
Unfortunately for the Blue Jays, only Morales and Russell Martin had much going on at the plate.
"It's hard to pinpoint one or two moments", Bautista said.
The only difference was this time he was sporting an orange-brimmed New York Mets hat and an unfamiliar No. 11 on his sleeve. It seemed like the 37-year-old still had some gas left in the tank, even though his 2017 campaign was the worst of his career.

Mind you, their team has been decimated by injuries - which led to Bautista's signing in the first place - but if his time in Toronto had come to an end and Atlanta didn't have room for him on the roster anymore, at least Bautista can create some new memories in NY.
