One U.S. service member was killed and two others wounded Saturday in an apparent "insider attack" in southern Afghanistan, making it the first attack of its kind on U.S. personnel this year.
The two wounded US troops were in stable condition, the statement added. The name of the fallen service member will be released 24 hours after family notification has taken place in keeping with Defense Department policy, according to the release.
Additional information will be released as appropriate, the Resolute Support said.
