U.S. first lady Melania Trump has arrived in Ghana for her first solo major tour of Africa.
For some odd unfathomable reason, First Lady Melania Trump looks a lot happier when she is away from the POTUS than when she's with him. Landing Tuesday morning, the first lady was greeted on the tarmac by Ghanaian first lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo and a bouquet of flowers wrapped in kente cloth followed by a dancing-and-drumming performance.
Mrs Trump announced her visit at a reception for spouses of world leaders, held on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly, in NY.
Mrs. Trump also paid a visit to the United States Embassy later in the day, and returned to her hotel late Tuesday afternoon, said CNN.
Ghana's first lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, welcomed her at the airport in Accra.
The items carried the logo of "Be Best", the child well-being initiative Melania Trump launched last May.
Other stops on Trump's schedule include Malawi, Kenya and Egypt.
Trump later had a private meeting with first lady Akufo-Addo.
'This is a very scary time for young men in America'
In an unusual tactic for a presidential press conference, Trump ignored at least three questions about his Supreme Court nominee. Susan Collins of ME and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska were instrumental last week in holding up Kavanaugh's confirmation vote.
Pep Guardiola relieved after 'important' win
Defending Premier League champions, City are now top of the division having won six and drawn one of their opening seven games. City had plenty of the ball and David Silva scored the victor in the 87th minute after a defensive mistake from Hoffenheim .
Democrats question Kavanaugh's credibility and temperament
The attorney is facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct , which the Federal Bureau of Investigation is now investigating. Kavanaugh's confirmation hinges on a handful of key Republican and Democratic senators who have not yet fully tipped their votes.
"Whether it is education, drug addiction, hunger, online safety or bullying, poverty or disease, it is too often children who are hit first, and hardest, across the globe", she said at the time. "Thank you very much", she said with a smile.
"I have been honoured to meet children all over the world, with the goal of talking to them about the importance of healthy living and responsible habits", she said.
She is the first naturalized and second foreign-born USA citizen to become the First Lady, after Louisa Adams, wife of the sixth president, John Quincy Adams. "Africa is so lovely, the most lovely part of the world, in many ways", he added.
The first lady's visit to Africa could be made hard because of the past actions and words of her husband.
"We both love Africa".
What does Trump hope to accomplish on her first solo trip overseas?
She will be most appreciated if she had rather convinced her husband to release the detained children who were separated from their immigrant parents for the crime of wanting a better life in the United States.
