Star Wars: First Look At The Mandalorian Revealed As Production Begins

A day after we learned the name of the first live-action Star Wars TV show destined for Disney's unnamed subscription streaming service, the official website has posted this image of The Mandalorian. "Thor: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, "Dope's" Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow ("Jessica Jones") will direct additional episodes. As Favreau previously revealed, the series takes place after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order.

In addition, the directors for the series have been officially announced included Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) who will be directing the first episode.

StarWars.com released the first photo from the new series that is now in production, focusing on one of the warriors from the same planet and culture of Jango Fett, and his cloned son Boba Fett.

Filoni, along with Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson, will also serve as producers on the series alongside Favreau, and Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.

The new series will debut exclusively on Disney's upcoming direct to consumer streaming service, which is expected to launch by the end of 2019.
