The European football governing body say anti-semitic chants by fans during the Europa League clash at Hungarian side Vidi were reported by its match-day delegate.

Chelsea now face the possibility of a partial closure of Stamford Bridge for a future UEFA match, though any punishment will come too late to affect their round-of-32 tie against Swedish giants Malmo next month.

And now, following a UEFA investigation into the allegations, European football's governing body have made a decision to open disciplinary proceedings that could potentially result in a partial closure of their Stamford Bridge stadium for an unspecified number of future European ties.

Uefa's control, ethics and disciplinary body will rule on the case at its next meeting on 28 February.

Chelsea's supporters were allegedly engaged in racist chanting during the club's 2-2 UEFA Europa League draw with MOL Vidi in Budapest on December 13.
