Ryan Fox claimed his maiden European Tour title yesterday with a comprehensive 3-2 victory over Spain's Adrian Otaegui in the final of the World Super 6 at Perth's Lake Karrinyup Country Club.
After all the excitement of the early matches and controversy of multiple players having putters stolen overnight before the match play, the final six hole match of the innovative tournament was somewhat anticlimactic.
Otaegui - unbeaten in 12 matches in his two previous European Tour wins - defeated Daniel Gale, Per Langfors, Min Woo Lee and Scott Vincent before running into a rampant Fox in the final. "I played very good golf the first four games - just nothing went the way I wanted in the end, but I'm still happy", Otaegui added.
"I think so. I mean, I always thought I might have had an advantage of the two playing with Paul and Adrian as I make my decisions pretty quick and just get on with things", Fox said of his quick play.

"There was some scrappy stuff in there but I got out of trouble when I needed to and I played great in the final. It was nice to finish in style".
