I have had some many wonderful experiences in broadcasting at Oxegen, Electric Picnic, Sea Sessions and Longitude, to actually performing at Festivals and selling out Arena's with the fantastic RTE Concert Orchestra and Gemma Sugrue.

Commenting on her new role, Jennifer Zamparelli said: "I'm delighted to have this opportunity and even though I'll miss my pals on Breakfast Republic I will still be popping in to distract them and sabotage their show on a daily basis".

Writing on social media, Greene said: "It is with a very heavy heart that I have chose to say farewell to 2FM, 12 years after [former Head of 2FM] John Clarke gave me the opportunity to host my own show on Friday night".

2FM have today announced a shakeup to their lineup which will see long-running presenter Jenny Greene leaving the station while Jennifer Zamparelli is set to depart the "Breakfast Republic" team and host her own morning show.

Co-host Byrne tweeted that Greene is "simply the best".

Head of RTÉ 2FM, Dan Healy said: "Jen Zamparelli has been an integral part of the 2FM changing schedule and is now ready to spread her own wings and move into her own space. Our audiences have reacted in an overwhelming positive way towards her". "I wish Nicky the best as he returns to a worldwide tour with Westlife and Jenny the best in her future endeavours". The success of the show has led to an album release, a nationwide tour, an Australian tour in 2013 and most recently I have had the privilege of performing these tracks live, with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
