Christopher Freeman, 27, was first greeted by a school police officer around 4 p.m. when he went to Bear Lakes Middle School in West Palm Beach, according to police - and it appeared Freeman, who was in a wheelchair, had a gun in his trousers, the Sun Sentinel reports.
According to his arrest report, Freeman said he received a FaceTime call from his son at 3 p.m.
Police arrested a Florida man for allegedly bringing a loaded AK-47 to his son's middle school on Monday, March 11, 2019. He claimed his son was crying and said a teacher had slammed him. "I've got something for him'".
Officers put the school on a Code Red lockdown and searched Freeman, where they found a loaded Romarm/Cugir AK-47 Mini Draco pistol, police said.
Police said Freeman then headed to the school to check on his son.

Freeman told police that he was upset because his son called him crying earlier in the day because a teacher "slammed him", the affidavit said.
"I want to thank the quick action of our own School Police, in cooperation with the West Palm Beach Police Department, for their cooperation in removing this individual from our campus", Howell said, according to the TV station.
Christopher Freeman, 27, faces charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm on school grounds and disrupting a school function. He said he forgot he had it with him and said he didn't know that it was against school rules.
Freeman is now being held on $75,000 bond but could have his bond revoked as a result of another outstanding criminal case.
His attorney, Jack Fleischman, said he plans to fight the bond revocation and hopes to get the most recent charges dropped. "We're interested in seeing if there is any security video from school because there were allegations about his child being hit". He intends to plead not guilty, according to Fleischman.
