This week, the space agency released the final 360-degree panorama snapped by the rover.
In late spring 2018, before the storm began assembling itself over the Martian plains, Opportunity took a series of photos of the Perseverance Valley. Located on the western rim of Endeavour Crater, this valley spans roughly 600 feet (182 meters) and contains many shallow channels sloping down from the crater's rim to its floor.
To help differentiate areas and materials, NASA made the panorama (shown above) in "false color" which enhances certain elements.
John Callas, Opportunity Project Manager, said: 'This final panorama embodies what made our Opportunity rover such a remarkable mission of exploration and discovery.

The resident held up his mobile phone to take a photograph of the armed man, who then engaged the bow and was ready to fire. While the arrow also hit the resident in the chin, it only left a small laceration which required no medical treatment.
In February, NASA announced that its pioneering Opportunity rover had died after almost 15 years of exploring the Martian surface, marking the end of a mission which has significantly broadened our understanding of the Red Planet.
'To the right of centre you can see the rim of Endeavor Crater rising in the distance.
Its scientific discoveries contributed to an advanced understanding of the planet's geology and environment, setting foundations for future robotic and human missions to the harsh environment of Mars. It shows a number of interesting features of Perseverance Valley, in addition to the pristine, unexplored floor of Endurance Crater. NASA also produced a 3D-version of the panorama, viewable through blue-and-red 3D glasses. Helpfully, the image is annotated with other geologic details to give you a better sense of what you're looking at. For these images, the filters block out all light except for three wavelengths: 753 nanometres (near-infrared), 535 nanometres (green), and 432 nanometres (violet). But Opportunity beamed this super-speckly shot home after it sent the two thumbnails; indeed, the noisy pic was the last piece of data that Opportunity ever transmitted, NASA officials said.
After months of trying to revive Opportunity, NASA officially declared both rovers', which were of a similar size to a golf cart, missions had been completed.
