Rockets fired from Gaza target Tel Aviv for first time since 2014

The military said two rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip and it would provide further details later.

Israeli news media reported on rocket sirens blasting across Tel Aviv as well as the satellite cities of Ramat Gan, Givatayim, Bat Yam, Holon, Azor and Rishon Letzion.

It would be the first time that Tel Aviv has been targeted by rocket fire since a 2014 war against Gaza militants. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. Israeli media said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was convening senior military and security officers to evaluate the situation.

While no group claimed responsibility for the attack, Israeli Education Minister and member of security cabinet Naftali Bennett told RT he believes Hamas bears responsibility for the incident anyway.
