Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki has confirmed that the female patient at the Kericho Referral Hospital did not test positive to Ebola-related symptoms & illness.

The woman showed some symptoms of Ebola after travelling from Malaba on the Kenya-Uganda border, sparking fears that Congo's current outbreak had spread to Kenya.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday that the Ebola epidemic that has been raging since August 2018 in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and has spread to Uganda is not a global health "emergency", with the WHO Emergency Committee considering that the risk of worldwide spread remains "low".

The woman was admitted on Sunday and put in isolation.

"The County Disease Surveillance Team immediately took over the matter and took all the necessary precautions to ensure that there was minimal contact between the patient, and other persons at the hospital including the staff and the other hospital users", the statement read in part.

The hospital has dispatched blood samples to the capital Nairobi, for further analysis.

The tests were carried out in Kisumu at the Kenya Medical Research Institute's laboratories.

The poll surveyed 772 likely Democrat primary voters in Minnesota, part of a broader poll of 1,568 registered voters. A combined 27% had reservations or said they were very uncomfortable with Warren, down from 33%.

It was further noted results from the preliminary lab tests on blood samples collected from the patient would come out between 12 and 24 hours. The street talk though was the disease as residents and businesses men kept calling reporters and other sources for "latest" updates.

Health officials in neighboring countries have been swift to deploy Ebola response measures to curb the spread.

The county's department of health services indicated it was monitoring the case and working closely with the national government to ensure all essential procedures are followed to keep the public safe.

Ebola is often fatal and causes vomiting, diarrhea, internal and external breeding.

Tanzania has not had any cases of Ebola to date.

On Friday, the World Health Organisation said the outbreak does not yet warrant being declared a "public health emergency of global concern", meaning it would require a "coordinated worldwide response".
