Superstar Vijay released the much-awaited song "Singappenney" from his Tamil film "Bigil" on Tuesday. The makers of the film released the first song from the movie on July 23 title "Singapenney".

Throughout the song's punchy six and a half minutes, lyricist Vivek with his catchy lyrics pays ode to the strength of women.

The music of Bigil is composed by AR Rahman.

The video opens with an explanation that this song is meant to be a song that will urge women to go after their dreams. AGS Entertainments, the film's producer, had erected huge sets that included a football stadium for filming this sports drama.

Bigil is AR Rahman's third consecutive collaboration with Vijay after Mersal and Sarkar.

When the poster for Singapenney was released, the photo had Vijay standing in the centre, with 5 girls on either side, including Indhuja who reportedly plays the captain, Reba Monica John, Amritha Iyer, Robo Shankar's daughter Indraja were seen but the 11th player was missing. While the father Vijay is touted to be a local gangster from North Chennai, the son Vijay is tipped to be the coach of the women's football team.

The movie also has Nayanthara in the lead. Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Vivek, Daniel Balaji, Varsha Bollamma and Anandraj are few other actors in the movie.
