She made her comments to TMZ during a sit down where she also acknowledged that if Donald Trump talking to Sweden's Prime Minister has had no impact on the proceedings, then realistically nothing she or anybody else can do will either.

She thanked Mr Trump for his support, but said she does not want to cause trouble as she pleads for the release of her son.

"Likewise, I assured him that A$AP was not a flight risk and offered to personally vouch for his bail, or an alternative", Trump wrote.

Lofven said that while he welcomed a conversation with Trump, he planned to tell him that Sweden's judicial system is independent.

"Our teams will be talking further, and we agreed to speak again in the next 48 hours!"

Lofven's spokesman Toni Eriksson described the 20-minute phone call as "friendly and respectful".

Prosecutors have until Thursday to decide if they'll let Rocky out or not.

ASAP Rocky is being held in Sweden.

Three other people were arrested alongside Mayer and one of them - the rapper's bodyguard - was later released.

The video showed A$AP stay calm throughout the row as he told one of the men to calm down after he slapped his security guard over the head with headphones.
