The yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued across much of the South West and Wales.

"We hang on to much of that sunshine into the afternoon, the cloud will start to build a little bit more by the middle part of the day but still plenty of sunny spells to come".

It will dry up across the north of England this morning to join the rest of England and Wales to a fine day, showery day for Scotland.

The Met Office meteorologist continued to explain that as Monday continues the southwest of the country will be hit by some heavy rain.
