An Auckland woman who went on a Tinder date with the accused just a week before he met Millane says she had rough sex with the alleged killer.
She went on another date with the accused in November 2018. The 27-year-old man has pleaded not guilty. But he admits being with her the night she died and disposing of her body.
The Crown has alleged that the defendant, who can not be named due to a suppression order, strangled her and shoved her body inside a suitcase before burying her in a forested area outside Auckland.
She said the accused then pushed her for sex, during which she was pinned to the bed and struggling to breathe.
The defendant is on trial for murdering British backpacker Grace Millane, after the 22-year-old disappeared during a round-the-world trip last year.
The pair matched in March 2018 and eventually met in early November.
However, instead of going to a downtown Auckland bar the pair went to the accused's apartment at the CityLife hotel - the same room where Millane died a month later.
"He grabbed my arm and I said: "We're not having sex".
The young woman started violently kicking to indicate she couldn't breathe.
The last known sighting of Grace Millane was at about 9.40pm when she was captured on CCTV entering CityLife hotel with the accused.
"It wasn't too hard that I was gasping for air but it wasn't so soft that I wouldn't be able to feel it so it was just the right pressure". But the accused still didn't get off, the court heard.
Throughout intercourse, she stated, "he did choke me a bit as a result of that's a desire of mine, only one hand round my neck".
She said the accused pressed her for a date on 1 December, but she made excuses and declined.
He asked her what was wrong.
The woman said he was accusing and quite cold in his manner, and asked her 'you don't think I did that on goal do you?'.

"There were so many thoughts running through my mind but it was more that this can't be the way that I die".
"He would talk about enjoying it and why he liked it".
He would have felt me fighting.
The woman broke down, putting her head in her arms on the table in front of her, when she heard Mr Mansfield's cross examination would spill over into tomorrow. "I was just scared".
She says he lied to her, telling her he had cancer.
"We asked each other what we prefer during sex and so I did mention that I like rough sex and also choking".
The pair met at his apartment, had a "normal conversation about life" before things got more intimate.
The woman denied another allegation she had invented her story because she was embarassed to have pursued a man now charged with murder.
"It was fine, it was consensual". My breath was a bit restricted but it was something that gave me pleasure.
The witness told the jury she picked up a bottle of rum on her way to the man's apartment and met him in the lobby before going up to his room and chatting about their lives.
During the woman's evidence the accused was observed taking gulps, wiping his nose and looking down with his head between his legs.
She says she had no intention of meeting up with him again despite the man's lawyer saying she was stringing him along with her messages.
The court heard she approached police of her own volition after learning of Grace Millane's disappearance.
Turlough Thomas-Stone, an expert in DNA profiling and body fluid identification, told the court DNA from a blood stain on the fridge in the apartment was 500,000 million times more likely to belong to Grace than anyone else.
