Ready for a rerun of the bone-chilling cold snap that we just experienced a few days ago?

A winter storm warning is in effect for parts of upstate NY, with up to 12 inches of snow expected in some areas followed by record cold temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service at State College, Monday will be partly sunny with a high of 59. Light amounts of snow are expected in these areas with minor disruption to commerce.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead if traveling Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Highs are forecast to reach only the teens in the Dakotas and Minnesota on Monday, with highs in the 20s in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Wisconsin and MI. Because it's occurring far too early. The snow should end tomorrow morning but with another couple of centimetres expected the commute will likely be miserable. Highs on Monday and Tuesday in the 20s, with record cold possible Monday night with temperatures in the single digits.

Rain will be likely for the morning drive but temperatures will continue to be above freezing early in the day. Below is our graphic for TOTAL snowfall through Tuesday taking into account the entire event. Winds out of the north anywhere between 10 to 20 miles per hour will create wind chill values in the 20s through out the day on Tuesday.
