Black also faces drug, weapons and sexual assault charges in other states that remain pending. The Miami-Dade State Attorney's office on Friday formally charged the 22-year-old with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The rapper has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to weapons charges stemming from his arrest just before a scheduled concert performance in May. It's unclear whether these sentences would run concurrently.

According to the Miami Herald, one count was filed for a gun the rapper purchased in January.

The giant media outlet added that the 22 rapper was arrested before his Rolling Loud festival back in May. The purchases were approved because he did not use his actual Social Security number.

U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno could have sentenced Black to the maximum of 10 years, and prosecutors wanted eight years in part because Black allegedly was involved in a jail fight that injured a corrections officer.

The judge went on to say, "Young people do stupid things, but the problem is that you've been doing stupid things since you were 15". Black has remained in custody since then his arrest. Being that the Florida rapper was in fact indicted for criminal sexual conduct for a 2016 case in SC, this was incorrect, so he was arrested. The other involves drugs and weapons that were found in Kodak's vehicle as he tried to cross the Canadian border from the US for a show in April.

Before receiving his sentence, the Dying to Live rapper took accountability for his actions and delivered an apology. "I do take full responsibility for my mishap".

In May, Black checked a "no" box on the ATF Form 4473, a firearms application, where it asked if he was under indictment for a felony, XXL mag reports.
