Frozen 2 raked in $127 million (£98.9 million) in its opening weekend in the United States, beating forecasts and the box office debut of the original Frozen. The film, which cost around $50 million to produce, is a certified box office bomb with just $13.9 million to its name in North America.

The sequel kicked off above expectations ahead of Thanksgiving, which should parlay into an especially lucrative holiday frame.

The opening sets a record for an animated movie released outside of the summer season. It was the highest opening weekend ever for an animated movie in France and the UK.

As per a report in BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film has doubled its collections on the second day as it collected Rs. 6.75 crore nett on Saturday.

Brown, and Alfred Molina. The film, which had a $33 million budget co-financed by MVM Studios and Huayi Brothers with STX, had a B+ on CinemaScore and a 45% Rotten Tomatoes score. Over 50% of ticket buyers were male, while 75% were over the age of 25. It carries a $33 million budget.

Coming in at second place at the box office was Fox's "Ford Vs Ferrari" which made $16 million this weekend and brought its North American total to an estimated $43 million. It had a worldwide cume of $350 million.

At the specialty box office, Todd Haynes' legal thriller "Dark Waters" began its platform release, generating $110,000 from four theaters. The movie opens wide on Wednesday.
