  • WhatsApp Gets Facebook's Crisis Response Tool

This is in addition to their existing ability to share requests or offers for help, as before.

Crisis Response is one of Facebook's great community tools.

Today, Facebook is adding new functionality to Crisis Response which will allow people in affected areas to share first-hand information about what they're witnessing or think others should know - like building collapses or road closures, for example.

Facebook is rolling out several new features that use machine learning to deliver more personalized ad experiences to its users. Well, until today, people were able to offer help to the victims of crises through Messenger, but now they can do it directly through WhatsApp. We've seen employees wanting to contribute their aid during disasters, and it can prove hard to get important updates to employees and ascertain their status; integrating Facebook's Crisis Response into your internal crisis communications, then, could be a smart move for some organizations.

In addition to WhatsApp integration with Crisis Response feature, Facebook is also expanding "Data for Good" tools.

Further, Facebook is also updating its "Data for Good" tools, including improvements to its disaster maps. This information help authorities to distribute supplies or reach to people in need.

The update allow the social network to provide this information to state and local officials, as well as federal relief agencies such as Direct Relief and the National Alliance for Public Safety GIS Foundation.

Facebook is also trying to improve its disaster maps by making experts work at topics of displacement.
