The city of Jackson monitors the Grand River as water levels rise

River flows in the Grand River and Speed River continue to recede across the central portion of the Grand River watershed.

The Grand River Conservation Authority is issuing a flood warning for the entire Grand River region.

"Based on this potential, we ask residents to make a plan to temporarily relocate before levels rise to the point of impassable roads and isolation".

The boat ramp at Starved Rock State Park was also closed over the weekend due to river flooding, according to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. National Weather Service officials said more than 2 inches of rain fell in the southern third of Lower Michigan.

Shady Drive in Ada Township and low-lying areas in Lowell, Walker and Grandville may also be impacted.

Current water levels stand at 11 feet, flooding begins at 12 feet.

The Grand River is expected to crest Thursday at a minor flood stage in Ottawa County's Robinson Township.

The National Weather Service says the Grand River is a big area of concern this week as it could reach record levels.

The Mazon River along Route 113 near Coal City crested below flood stage by Sunday. Haldimand County Flood Coordinators are requested to notify residents on River Front Lane and Maple Road and maintain the closure of River Drive, Sims Lock Road, Grand Sports Drive, the Conway Park area and continue to monitor conditions.
