  • Florida judge frees Antonio Brown from house arrest, but other conditions remain

Via the Associated Press, Judge Michael Usan freed Brown from house arrest and allowed him to remove his Global Positioning System ankle monitor.

It took his latest run-in with the law, but troubled wide receiver Antonio Brown admitted some wrongdoing on his part.

He was charged last week by Hollywood, Florida, police with burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief. Instead of wearing an ankle Global Positioning System monitor, Brown, 31, will have to check in with court personnel daily. "Unfortunate situation, but we don't make excuses and we're going to make the best of it". Officials responded January 21 to a disturbance call where the moving truck driver said Brown and his trainer, Glenn Holt, hit him outside Brown's Hollywood home.

Holt was arrested and charged with one count of burglary with battery, but officials couldn't make contact with Brown at the time. A police report said the altercation began because Brown refused to pay $4,000 to the driver to release his household goods. When the driver drove away, he said Brown threw a rock at his truck, creating a dent and chipping paint, the report read.

The driver returned to Brown's home when the manager of the moving company assured him that Brown would pay the $4,000 plus an additional $860 for the damage to the truck and the driver's time.

Brown's trainer, Glenn Holt, grabbed the keys from the ignition and used them to open the back of the truck while Brown and "other unidentified friends" began removing boxes.

The charges Brown faces didn't seem to humble him.

"Don't judge me, " he crooned along with Kendrick Lamar's song "God". At one point, he said: "Hey, this what God feels like".

"I'm planning to come back to the NFL", Brown said.

It remains to be seen if that's possible. He was traded to the Oakland Raiders previous year but released before ever playing a regular season game following several off-the-field incidents. He's now facing a civil suit for allegedly raping his former trainer.

"I think I've got a shot, " he said. "I'm free to go." .
