The Boston Red Sox have decided on their next manager, as they announced on Tuesday that former bench coach Ron Roenicke has been promoted to interim manager. "We have no reason to think that there's anything that would cause an adverse result for Ron in this investigation, but of course the investigation is not complete".

During the press conference the team held today, Chaim Bloom explained the team used the "interim" tag on Roenicke's hiring out of respect to the ongoing Major League Baseball investigation on the Red Sox sign-stealing allegations. Besides Cora's departure, the team is facing a public backlash over the trade of Mookie Betts and David Price. "He's been a significant contributor to the Red Sox for the last couple of years".

Roenicke, who managed the Milwaukee Brewers from 2011 to 2015, takes over during a tumultuous period in Red Sox history. "I know that he's going to be a terrific partner for Chaim and me as we go forward and he's the right guy to lead this group of players and staff in 2020 and going forward".
