  • Wendy Williams gets Twitter dressing-down

Wendy Williams cried a single tear as she apologised to the LGBT+ community.

"Well, first of all, if you're a man and you're clapping, you're not even a part of this", Williams said.

"You don't even understand the rules of the day", she continued. "You're not a part", Wendy shockingly said.

"I never do this show in a place of malice", she said, visibly emotional in the video.

Williams didn't stop there. This week, Wendy took aim at gay men, saying they will never go through menstruation like we women do, and to stop wearing our high heels and skirts!

"Looky here now, gay men, you'll never be the women that we are", Williams said.

Williams is no stranger to controversy and has had to apologize in the past month alone for comments which have landed her in hot water about Justin Bieber's battle with addiction and Joaquin Phoenix's scar on his upper lip.

"I didn't mean to hurt anybody's feelings", she added. "I'm just having a conversation", she continued. I don't care if you're gay. "I'm not out of touch except for perhaps yesterday by saying what I said". So I deeply apologize. "I will do better".

Her initial remarks were immediately denounced as "transphobic" and "homophobic" across social media, with many calling for the star to be "canceled", referring to a form of boycott.

What do you think about what Wendy said and the fact that she apologized?

"Netflix's "Queer Eye" fashionista Tan France posted a picture of himself in heels on Instagram, sharing the hashtag, "#GayHeelsForWendy" so "she can see your FABULOUS pics in heels!" "I did not realize until I got home and I watched the second running of our show here in NY, and I always watch when I can to critique my delivery or the cameras, the lights, the audience, the camera", Williams began.

A rep for Williams did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment at the time.
