One of the biggest luxury brand companies of the world, LVMH has announced the conversion of its perfume and cosmetics factories to produce hand sanitizers as the world has been affected by coronavirus outbreak.

Louis Vuitton owner LVMH will use its perfume production lines to start making hand santiser to protect people against the coronavirus outbreak.

LVMH will continue to honour this commitment for as long as necessary, in connection with the French health authorities, " the company stated.

The city's hospitals have not yet run out of gel but supplies are "strained", a spokeswoman for the Paris hospital system said, adding that other companies have also said they are ready to donate supplies.

Luxury perfume brands Christian Dior and Givenchy will produce free hand sanitiser for French health authorities, amid the worsening coronavirus crisis.

Worldwide news sources say that 12 tonnes of sanitizer will be created this week rather than Christian Dior, Guerlain and Givenchy scents and make-up usually made at the three French sites.

The luxury goods maker also owns well-known brands such as Moet & Chandon, Tag Heuer and Bulgari.

France has closed all nonessential stores, including restaurants, cafes, movie theatres and nightclubs in order to stop the rapid spread of the deadly virus in the country.

The comments came after Dr. Anthony Fauci, the federal government's top infectious disease expert, said he would like to see more aggressive measures to slow the spread, such as a 14-day national shutdown. In Paris, most pharmacies have had to put up signs informing people that they are fully out of both protective masks and hand sanitizers, two of the main tools used to limit contamination.

And the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is also due to ask United Kingdom engineering companies to shift production to build ventilators for the NHS today.
