Earlier this week, de Blasio had said there were no plans to close city streets.

"Everyone wants to make sure there are spaces for folks to get their exercise, to get fresh air, there must be enforcement".

The mayor also mentioned the city will be experimenting with closing two streets in each borough to vehicles giving pedestrians more room to maintain social distance. "We want to identify anyone in those categories and get them released immediately", de Blasio said.

It's unclear where or how many hoops will be taken down. Gov. Andrew Cuomo had suggested it as a way for people to spread out more outside.
