Take the case of this man who filmed himself licking several items at a Walmart store.

The unsanitary suspect - identified only as a "local resident" by Warrenton police - can be seen dragging his tongue over a series of personal hygiene products on a 5-second viral video posted to Twitter. The incident was allegedly filmed on March 11.

According to a statement from Warrenton police, Mr Pfister told the authorities he was "making a "Corona Virus" statement" and had been taken into custody.

If he is convicted of the charge, it is a class E felony that comes with a four-year prison sentence and a fine.

The Warrington Police Department said it received complaints from around the world about the video, including people from "the Netherlands, Ireland, and the United Kingdom".

Pfister is due back in court for a hearing on Wednesday. Copies of the Walmart stunt remain online.
