  • Swift announced the cancellation on Twitter

The Grammy Award-winning singer, who was scheduled to perform her Lover Fest concerts this summer, expressed her disappointment in a Twitter post Friday. "Sometimes it's not just about stuff that was pleasant to feel", she said in August during a SiriusXM event, according to Billboard. Her priority is the safety and well-being of her fans, so she chose to cancel her concerts because the health organizations and governments around the world have been discouraging large public gatherings for a period of time.

Taylor Swift offered a heartfelt performance of "Soon You'll Get Better" during the star-studded One World: Together at Home special on Saturday (April 18).

But it's not all bad news. Along with all the live performances, Swift's Lover Fest East and West events are also a no-go.

The "Love Story" singer in an official statement confirmed that Brazil and United States dates would be rescheduled for 2021, with tickets for this year's shows being transferred to the new dates automatically. "Tickets held for each of those shows will transfer to a new show date without action on the part of ticket holders", the statement added regarding the rescheduling of Lover Fest's U.S. and Brazil shows. "Please keep safe. I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you", tweeted another fan. The refunds would be available after May 1.
