The news comes as the country's biggest tech giants extend their work-from-home policies amid the coronavirus pandemic, with some companies like Facebook and Google making work-from-home optional until next year.

The social media platform was one of the first companies to implement the "work from home" strategy in the face of Covid-19 and has expressed their intent to ensure that employees who's roles enable them to work remotely can continue to do so, forever.

Twitter says it is unlikely to open its offices before September and many of its employees will be permitted to work from home permanently, even after the end of the coronavirus lockdowns.
