McGregor responds to Tyson's praise, promises to beat Mayweather

Although McGregor ultimately went on to lose his first career boxing match to Mayweather in their blockbuster fight in August of 2017, Tyson still had nothing but praise for the Irishman.

The second fight features the undefeated Mayweather coming back from retirement to face mixed martial arts superstar Conor McGregor in one of the biggest global sporting events in recent memory. Later unbeaten Floyd confidently declared its advantage: Mayweather willing to fight Nurmagomedov day, and with McGregor in the evening.

"Think about that. He went 10 rounds, scored punches on the greatest fighter in the last 100 years".

The video is from the 53-year-old American's podcast show Hotboxin with Mike Tyson - with Thursday's episode seeing him discuss matters with UFC heavyweight fighter Francis Ngannou.

Conor McGregor has vowed to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr.in their "inevitable rematch" after receiving praise from Mike Tyson for his boxing skills. "It is great to see you back Iron Mike".

With McGregor slated to return to the UFC's Octagon at some point this year, it's unclear if and when this proposed rematch with Mayweather will happen. I promise my life on it. Floyd should've took it easy, [but] he had to sweat, he had to fight him.
