Social media site Twitter has said employees can opt to continue home working "forever" after the Covid-19 crisis eases.
The San Francisco-based company said that it was one of the first companies to adopt a work-from-home model in the face of the coronavirus outbreak, and that it doesn't anticipate being one of the first to return to offices.
One Business Insider article shared Twitter's big announcement: CEO Jack Dorsey told employees via email that they would be allowed to work from home indefinitely, even after COVID-19 shutdowns end.
Like many companies, Twitter has realized that many positions within the company can work from home.
"The past few months have proven we can make that work", the company said.
Dorsey also said that Twitter's offices would not reopen until September 2020 at the earliest, according to BuzzFeed News.

The company said it will make decisions on reopening offices on a case-by-case basis - but warned that very few will be open before September. Employees whose work requires their physical presence at the office - to maintain servers, for example - are exempt from the new rule. "When we do decide to open offices, it also won't be a snap back to the way it was before".
The email from Dorsey also informed employees that the company's offices weren't likely to open before September, and that travel was canceled through September as well. The status of events for 2021 will be reevaluated later on in the year.
Facebook and Google have already stated their staff can work from home until the end of the year.
The information comes following phrase from Google and Facebook that they're prone to proceed telework via the top of the 12 months for many workers. Google previously said that Google staff could working from home until 1 June.
Amazon is known to have told staff who can work "effectively" from home can do so until at least 2 October, however that does not include warehouse staff.
