Michigan's Harbaugh prefers empty stadiums to no games

At this point, we are all just hoping (and praying) that the 2020 college football season kicks off as scheduled. And if there is, what will it look like?

The Big Ten suspended all organized team activities back in March, a ruling that canceled Michigan's spring football practice and was recently extended through June 1. Will fans be allowed to attend?

The Wolverines are slated to start the season on August 29th, at Washington, but plans of finding a different place to play that game are already underway.

Harbaugh said there is no reasonable way to test all fans who'd enter Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich., which is known as The Big House for its capacity of 107,000.

Harbaugh joined ESPN's 'Get Up!' with host Mike Greenberg and he said he would have no issues with playing without fans.

"You can definitely test both teams".

If that's what it comes to, MI head coach Jim Harbaugh is on board, based on what he said Wednesday on ESPN's "Get Up". "And darn near every guy I've talked to on our team, that's the way they feel about it".

Harbaugh suggested that testing officials and players from each team could be done, but that testing 100,000 fans coming into the stadium isn't probable. Harbaugh said. "Probably not". "Without a vaccine, you probably couldn't do that".

Harbaugh made multiple references to the need for testing for his players and staff.

For now, we have no idea what will happen.

"As far as the season, everybody's preparing like there's gonna be one", Harbaugh said.

Ohio State, which was able to hold several weeks of spring practice before COVID-19 cancelations hit America, is able to return June 8, but the state of MI hasn't announced any plans for the lower peninsula to open shop once again - meaning, who knows when players can return to Schembechler Hall.
