  • Upset Vince Mc Mahon pulls out of XFL bidding but league could relaunch in 2021

Vince McMahon has pulled out of bidding for his bankrupt XFL, but dozens of bidders are looking over the league's financials and interested in relaunching it next February. Contrary to some rumblings, McMahon confirmed he has no plans to buy back the league at a lower cost, according to The Athletic's Daniel Kaplan (subscription required).

Those revelations came in a series of filings Tuesday, in which the league founder McMahon blamed a creditors' committee for hounding him out of the bidding by accusing him of rigging the process.

Today's filing labeled the recent claims by the creditors as "inflammatory rhetoric and unsubstantiated accusations".

UK Looks To Scale Back Huawei Deal In Wake Of Pandemic
Huawei has continued to dismiss such criticism and maintain that it operates completely independently of the Chinese government. But amidst the coronavirus pandemic, Johnson has called for the United Kingdom to become less reliant on China for goods.

The idea behind this belief was that it would allow McMahon to escape debt that the league has following the inaugural season and for him to have a clean slate should he want to try to launch the league back up once the coronavirus pandemic is over.

Vince also noted in the filings that he put in "at least" $200 million into the XFL. The league had ran 5 games of its return season, and was considered to be a success by many until the COVID-19 outbreak hit.

Stay tuned for updates on the XFL as bankruptcy proceedings continue.
