Kensington Palace released a statement last week saying the story contained a "swathe of inaccuracies".

An anonymous source who claimed to be a friend of the duchess told the publication: "Kate is furious about the larger workload". None of Meghan's flower girls, including Princess Charlotte, were pictured wearing tights on her wedding day. "She's working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays", the piece said. The source described some of the claims in the piece as "cruel", "sexist", "disgusting", and "woman-shaming". There is no truth to their claim that the Duchess feels overwhelmed with work, nor that the Duke is obsessed with Carole Middleton.

Now the The Mail on Sunday's royal editor reports the Duke and Duchess are taking legal action against the magazine.

In a cover story called Catherine The Great, Kate was accused of being "exhausted and feeling trapped" since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the royal family, while her mother was called a "terrible snob" by unnamed sources.

"There was an incident at the wedding rehearsal".

Following Kensington Palace's statement, Tatler retorted, saying they stand by the published article: "Tatler's Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources".

It went on to say that Kensington Palace knew of the plans to run the "Catherine the Great" cover "months ago".
