A Belgian prince has apologised for attending a party in Spain after contracting coronavirus.

According to Spanish news outlet El Pais, 27 people attended the private party, which is almost double the number of people (15) now allowed to congregate under one roof in the Andalusian city.

According to CNN, authorities are now investigating whether there were more than 15 people at the event because gatherings of more than 15 people who do not live in the same household are currently not allowed due to Córdoba's lockdown restrictions.

The prince has tested positive for coronavirus, according to Belgian media, after attending a private party in Córdoba on 26 May attended by friends and family.
