Saturday marked a third day of protests across the five boroughs over the death of Floyd, a black man who died on Memorial Day after a white police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes during an arrest in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Sporadic violence broke out in Boston following peaceful protests as activists threw bottles at police officers and lit a cruiser on fire.

"I hate to see my city like this but at the end we need justice", said 18-year-old Jahvon Craven as he stood on an overpass watching protesters below on Interstate 35 in downtown Minneapolis moments before an 8 p.m. curfew went into effect.

The curfew lifted at 6 a.m. Sunday, according to the mayor's office.

New footage appears to show George Floyd in a violent struggle with cops while inside a squad vehicle before he died after being pinned with a knee to the neck for nearly nine minutes.

It was the latest in a series of deaths of black men and women at the hands of police in America.

Police investigated multiple shootings, including one that left a person dead amid the protests - adding to deaths in Detroit and Minneapolis in recent days. It did not appear any protesters were hit by the truck.

In Santa Monica, California, upscale stores were looted along the city's popular Third Street Promenade before police moved in to make arrests.

Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse tweeted confirming two Capitol police officers were injured and that police were trying to deescalate the situation.

Police have been filmed driving through a crowd of people at an intersection in Brooklyn, New York, as tensions grow between authorities and George Floyd protestors.

Photographer Evan Hreha told Storyful that people who had seen the incident claimed that a Seattle police officer had sprayed the child with mace.

"The video was upsetting, and I wish the officers hadn't done that", de Blasio said.
