A seven-year-old boy and his six-year-old brother died in a fiery crash in Missouri last week after officials say the older brother took his grandmother's auto and drove it, eventually losing control and overturning.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. near E. Blue Mills Rd. and N. Miller Dr., just west of Buckner.
The young driver was riding along East Blue Mills Road in Jackson County when he veered off the pavement, hit the ground and the auto became airborne.
Sgt. Andy Bell, a spokesperson for the Missouri Highway Patrol, said the 2007 Buick LaCrosse belonged to the boys' grandparents.
"It's pretty unique, to say the least, and devastating", Bell said, per NBC News.
