The NHL allowed teams to begin opening their practice facilities on June 8 for voluntary, small group workouts.

The NHL also announced that it is aware of an additional 11 players who have yet to join the Phase 2 workouts who have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 26.

The NHL says 15 out of more than 250 players in the league's Phase 2 return-to-play protocol have tested positive for COVID-19 while an additional 11 players have tested positive outside of the Phase 2 protocol. "Those tests have resulted in a total of 15 Players returning confirmed positive test results for COVID-19", the statement read. More than 1,450 tests have been conducted for more than 250 players in Phase 2, according to the league's release.
