  • Report Patriots fined lose draft pick for videotaping Bengals

The NFL hit the New England Patriots with new penalties Sunday after members of their TV team were spotted recording from the Cincinnati Bengals' press box during a game against the Cleveland Browns last season.

Separately, the league fined the Patriots $1 million and took away a 2016 first-round draft pick over Deflategate, which also resulted in a four-game suspension for quarterback Tom Brady.

The videographer who filmed the Bengals' sideline, David Mondillo, also was banned indefinitely from National Football League facilities. The team released a statement in December that said the organization sent a three-person video crew to the Bengals-Browns game to capture footage for a behind-the-scenes feature on a pro personnel scout. The NFL confiscated the footage for the purposes of its investigation. Then, comes the news the team is being penalized for its episode of filming of the Bengals' sideline in the 2019 season.

The Patriots admitted to wrongdoing at the time, but they also said the videographers were filming a team series called "Do Your Job" and were unaware of the infraction. "When questioned, the crew immediately turned over all footage to the league and cooperated fully". The league fined the Patriots $250,000, confiscated a first-round draft pick in 2007 NFL draft and Belichick was fined $500,000.

In December, the team acknowledged that the Kraft Sports Production video crew broke a rule. Mondillo was suspended by the Patriots during the NFL's investigation and was sacked by New England before the league's discipline.
