Former Presidential struggle candidate Herman Cain has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. The businessman and Donald Trump supporter was one of many visitors to attended the president's rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 20.

"Mr. Cain did not require a respirator, and he is awake and alert", the Thursday statement reads. On Monday, after symptoms getting serious Cain has been treated for the virus he needed care but not ventilator. Cain was photographed sans mask, sitting in the stands with other guests.

Cain, who is an official surrogate for Trump's 2020 re-election campaign, wrote an op-ed after the rally in which he defended the event, writing, "The media worked very hard to scare people out of attending the Trump campaign rally last Saturday night in Tulsa".

Neither Mr Cain nor those around him in the image were wearing a face mask.

Cain briefly rose to the top of polls during the 2012 race for the Republican presidential nomination by highlighting a plan to simplify the tax code with what he called the 9-9-9 plan. "With God's help, we are confident he will make a quick and complete recovery".
