Travellers from more than 50 countries including France, Italy and Spain - but not the United States - can stop self-isolating on arrival in England from July 10, the UK government said Friday.

Countries on that list will be exempt from the requirement for passengers arriving into England to self-isolate for 14 days, although they will still be required to provide contact information on their arrival in the country.

A complete list of countries for which quarantine will not implement to persons arriving back in England has been published.

Note that the changes refer only to arrivals into England - Scotland and Wales have yet to confirm any easing of restrictions, and in Northern Ireland quarantine regulations remain in place for travellers arriving from outside the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

The full list of 59 countries that will be exempt from quarantine from July 10 has been published by the UK Government.

Amber countries are place where no quarantine is required for arrivals in England, and reciprocal arrangements are expected for British travelers.

Under the new rules, a traffic-light system - red, amber and green - will be used for different countries depending on their prevalence of the coronavirus.

All global forms of travel to England will be included, and travelers from a smaller list of countries will also be exempt from contact tracing requirements. But countries on the list with low infection rates, such as Greece, Australia and New Zealand, have banned British travellers over the UK's high coronavirus rate. Portugal, China and Thailand are similarly not included.

British ministers have been under pressure to ease the lockdown measures due to their significant impact on the travel industry.
