As of Thursday, there were 3,914 facilities across the country with 3,77,737 isolation beds (without intensive care unit support), 39,820 ICU beds and 1,42,415 oxygen-supported beds, along with 20,047 ventilators, the health ministry said. Over 2.36 lakh cases have been reported in the 10 days of July, as compared to 4 lakh infections reported in the whole of June. The country-wide strong network of ASHAs and ANMs along with Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres have helped in effective surveillance and contact tracing of the cases, including the lakhs of migrants and returnees, it said.

The number of recoveries stands at 4,76,377, while there are 2,69,789 active cases of coronavirus infection presently in the country, the updated data at 8 am showed. The state now has over 223,724 coronavirus cases and 9,448 deaths. This group has faced about 1 per cent of India " s COVID-19 linked deaths", Mr Bhushan said.

The data shows more than half of all patients worldwide - over 6.74 million - have recovered so far.

"Not only in respect of Remdesivir, but in respect of Tocilizumab also, there have been a few studies which have indicated some adverse events".
