  • 'Lucifer' Trailer: Netflix Drops First Look At Season 5

Netflix has released the first official trailer for the hotly-awaited fifth season of Lucifer and it contains one helluva twist as it's revealed that when the Devil (Tom Ellis) returns to Earth, he won't quite be himself.

Lucifer explains that while it might not seem to his buddies as if he's been gone all that long, time functions differently in hell, meaning that he's actually been in the Bad Place for over a 1,000 years, leading to his all-new, all-different demeanour. He then retired to Los Angeles, where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals. That said, season five will not mark the end of Lucifer's reign, with the streamer having picked up the show for a sixth and final season earlier this summer.

Season 5 will be divided into two parts with Golden Globe nominee Dennis Haysbert (24, Major League) signing on for the role of God.
