Yves Guillemot, le PDG d'Ubisoft, a décidé de prendre le taureau par les cornes en coupant des têtes au sommet de son groupe à quelques heures de son E3 Virtuel, l'Ubisoft Forward.

Parmi les nouveaux départs, le numéro deux d'Ubisoft "Serge Hascoët a choisi de démissionner de son poste de 'Chief creative officer', avec effet immédiat". Plusieurs sanctions et mises à pied avaient déjà été annoncées début juillet, suite à la publication d'une enquête de Libération, dans laquelle de nombreux témoignages accusaient des cadres d'Ubisoft d'avoir multiplié remarques sexistes, harcèlement et agressions sexuelles.

À travers cette procédure inédite, ceux-ci veulent faire reconnaître la responsabilité du géant de la restauration rapide accusé de ne pas lutter contre le "harcèlement sexuel systématique " qui sévirait dans ses restaurants.

Ces départs "font suite à un examen rigoureux que la société a mené en réponse aux récentes allégations et accusations de mauvaise conduite et de comportements inappropriés " a indiqué Ubisoft dans un communiqué diffusé dans la nuit de samedi 11 juillet à dimanche 12 juillet 2020.

"Ubisoft n'a pas été en mesure de garantir à ses collaborateurs un environnement de travail sûr et inclusif", a par ailleurs regretté Yves Guillemot.

Presse française Libération a rapporté des détails sur certaines des allégations contre Hascoët, qui a supervisé tous les jeux de la société, et a été considéré par beaucoup comme proche du PDG Yves Guillemot, selon Bloomberg journaliste Jason Schreier.

En faisant le ménage aussi haut, l'éditeur a voulu montrer qu'il était déterminé à " mettre en œuvre des changements majeurs dans sa culture d'entreprise " et qu'il prenait à bras-le-corps le problème.
