Russian Federation has announced it expects to step up production of its potential coronavirus vaccine to around 6 million doses a month, Reuters cited from a report by state-run news agency RIA.

China has authorised emergency usage of COVID-19 vaccines developed by some select domestic companies, a Chinese health official has said.

The guidelines for emergency use of potential coronavirus vaccines, approved on June 24 according to Zheng, have not been made public.

"We have provided our embassies in different countries with the information about the phase I and II clinical trials and this information is subsequently forwarded to health ministries in other countries", Dmitriev said.

State media Global Times reported in June that China had been offering candidate coronavirus vaccines to employees at state-owned firms travelling overseas.

Zheng noted that for the next step of preventing a possible outbreak this autumn and winter, vaccines' availability will be extended to people working in food markets, transport systems and services industries.
