Entertainment Weekly recently ran an in-depth preview of season 2, complete with new images of all your favorite characters (yes, including Baby Yoda). The first season was a hit with critics and fans alike.
Original "Mandalorian" cast members Carano, Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, and Giancarlo Esposito will all be back for Season 2.
Quite simply: We didn't overthink things.
As for the rumors of recognizable Star Wars characters joining the series in Season 2 - like Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett - Carano said that "some of [the rumors] are true, some are not sure", while noting that the secrecy on the set during Season 2 was so high that actors got "scripts only for their own episodes" and were "ushered to sets in black cloaks and hoods like incognito Sith Lords".

The plot for the second season has not been revealed but will carry on "very directly" from the first with the Mandalorian searching for Baby Yoda's homeworld and family and Moff Gideon chasing after them, Darksaber in hand. "As we introduce other characters, there are opportunities to follow different storylines".
Favreau, who launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man and thus knows a thing or two about world-building, believes that going bigger will simply open up the series for more stories to tell.
The Galactic Empire officer told the publication that this time around, we're going to see plenty more of his ways: "You may think I'm a villain, but I'm trying to harness some energy and some powers for a path that could be best for all".
For those curious, Jon Favreau confirmed that The Mandalorian Season 2 would once again have eight episodes but he did stress that the lengths of each episode will vary even more than the first season. Did YOU like the first-look images?
