Ghislaine Maxwell: Intimate details of personal life released in sworn testimony

  • Ghislaine Maxwell speaks at a news conference about oceans and sustainable development at the United Nations in New York in 2013

U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska ordered the documents released back in July.

The deposition Maxwell's legal team fought to keep sealed is connected to a 2015 defamation case brought by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claimed Epstein sexually abused her while she was a minor and that Maxwell aided in the abuse. Maxwell was asked - immediately drawing an objection from her attorneys. "Absolutely 1000% that is a flat out total fabrication and lie", Maxwell said under oath in a deposition that lasted 9-1/2 hours.

"Fifth", he replied when he was asked if Maxwell was "one of the main women" he used to procure underage girls for sexual activities.

Maxwell told lawyers that her job with Epstein included hiring assistants, architects, decorators, cooks, cleaners, gardeners, pool people and pilots as part of the upkeep of six homes.

"You know, I remember asking Jeffrey what's Bill Clinton doing here [on the island]", Giuffre told the lawyer, according to the document.

Throughout the mammoth 450-page interview, Maxwell remained guarded and evasive.

'I never saw any inappropriate underage activities with Jeffrey ever, ' Maxwell said.

Illa will hold a video meeting on Thursday afternoon with regional health chiefs to agree on new measures. Of this number, 34,366 people have died, and 156 more were recorded in the last 24 hours.

It will nearly certainly mention Britain's Prince Andrew, a longtime (former) friend of Maxwell's, who has been accused by one Epstein victim of rape. Andrew's name is redacted from the transcript, but unredacted details - like travel dates and a puppet allegedly gifted to the British royal by Epstein - make it easy to see where Andrew is mentioned.

- She denied that Clinton had ever visited Epstein's Caribbean island, nicknamed by locals as "Pedo island".

The document will take some time to comb for incriminating information, but Maxwell at certain points seems desperate to cover her tracks. Maxwell eventually answered the question, but she seemed to prefer to focus on semantics. Early Thursday, Preska said that after reviewing the suggested changes, she approved Giuffre's proposed redactions and ordered "limited additional redactions".

Lawyers for Maxwell had argued that making the deposition public could imperil her ability to get a fair trial, because jurors might hold its contents against her.

Maxwell has been charged with recruiting three underage girls in the 1990s for Epstein to sexually abuse and committing perjury in the depositions, though the charges don't relate to the prince. She is locked up in a Brooklyn jail after the judge in her criminal case called her an unacceptable flight risk.
