Ouvert le 24 octobre à Cape-town, le congrès électif de la Confédération africaine de volley-ball (CAVB), a pris fin ce dimanche, avec l'élection du nouvel Exécutif.

Bouchra Hajij est également la présidente de la Fédération royale marocaine de volleyball (FRMVB). Le général Idriss Dokony Adiker, quant à lui, occupe la Vice-présidence de la CAVB, en battant le Congolais Jean Claude Mopita, sur un score de 36 voix contre 12.

Ancienne volleyeuse, la Marocaine est la première femme à diriger une Fédération de sport collectif au Maroc.

Dans son programme de campagne, elle a établi de réhausser le niveau du volley-ball sur le continent. Hajij cumule ses fonctions de présidente avec la casquette de membre de la Commission de parité de l'Association des Comités nationaux olympiques d'Afrique (ACNOA). Elle est aussi membre de la Commission culture et patrimoine olympique du Comité international olympique (CIO).
