In a story about LaMelo Ball's draft night experience Wednesday, ESPN's Tim Keown shared that LaVar expressed interest in a one-on-one against Jordan, but said they would first have to discuss business details such as pay-per-view and guaranteed money.

During a press conference welcoming LaMelo to the Charlotte Hornets, Ball was asked about his father's now-infamous claim that he could beat the GOAT and Hornets owner, Michael Jordan, in a game of one-on-one.

At the time, that boast triggered much internet mockery, talk-show opinions and investigations into Ball's basketball career. Jordan said. "He averaged 2.2 points per game".

During his media session with Hornets reporters on Friday, Ball had a hilarious response when he was asked if his dad and Jordan would finally play the game everyone wants to see.

Jordan has previously laughed when LaVar ball has mentioned the possibility of them facing off.
