France has ended Scotland's six-game winning streak, beating them 22-15 in Edinburgh.
Scotland's Autumn Nations Cup match against Fiji, which was scheduled for November 28, has been cancelled due to a coronavirus outbreak in the Fiji camp. The win leaves them top of Pool B and in fine form to face Italy next weekend and on course for a place in the finals on 5 December.
However, France produced the decisive moment of the match just two minutes after half time as centre Gael Fickou put a surging Vincent Rattez into a gap before he offloaded to put Virimi Vakatawa over for the game's only try.
All of Scotland's points came from the boot of flyhalf Duncan Weir.
Weir's fifth penalty kept Scotland in the game as the gap came down to four points but Ramos' three-pointer in the 62nd minute took France seven point ahead which eventually proved enough.
In the second half of the physical encounter, England captain Owen Farrell extended their lead with a couple of penalties, but Ireland had the final say when replacement flyhalf Billy Burns chipped the ball over the defence to be collected by Jacob Stockdale to score.

But Jalibert, playing in place of injured first-choice fly-half Romain Ntamack, landed a well-taken drop-goal, an increasingly rare score in Test rugby. He offloaded to strapping center Vakatawa, who shrugged off a tackle by fullback Stuart Hogg and managed to ground the ball over the line in the 42nd minute.
Scotland: Hogg; Kinghorn, Harris, Johnson, Van der Merwe, Weir, Price; Kebble, Brown, Berghan; Cummings, Gray; Ritchie, Watson, M Fagerson.
France squandered a potential second try when Vakatawa cut inside before Fickou was held up short of the line.
But France's powerful rolling maul was proving increasingly hard for Scotland to combat and it produced a penalty.
"We were in an arm-wrestle today and the effort was outstanding", Scotland coach Gregor Townsend said.
