Johnny Depp recently won an award from the Polish EnergaCamerimage film festival and announced the win by posing behind prison bars.

The festival dropped a photo of Depp beaming from behind bars with the award in one hand.

The actor was awarded for his unique visual sensitivity while his film Minamata closed the 28th edition.

Depp was unable to attend the festival to collect his award in-person owing to the coronavirus pandemic that has gripped the globe.

"Johnny Depp earned himself a reputation of a true acting chameleon capable of handling basically everything that the screenwriters, directors, costume designers, make-up artists and others threw at him", the statement read.

Depp was recently removed from the Fantastic Beasts franchise by Warner Bros after he lost his libel case against the United Kingdom newspaper The Sun for referring to him as a "wife-beater". They have vowed to appeal the decision.
